When it comes to brainstorming, it’s impossible for you, a mere human, to think of all the different ways someone might use a product. Even if you could, it would take a lot of time. As Shakespeare famously said, “Ain’t nobody got time for that!”

I like to think of myself as the pilot and ChatGPT as the airplane. I can steer ChatGPT toward the goal or destination that I choose.

There are three main things your listing needs to achieve.

  1. Your listing needs to be informative. You need to provide potential customers with all the information they need to make an informed buying decision.

  1. Your listing needs to be persuasive. You need to convince potential customers that your product is their best option.

  1. Your listing needs to be optimized for SEO. Or in other words, you want to ensure you’re using relevant keywords so that your listing appears in search results when potential customers are looking for products like yours.

ChatGPT can help you achieve all three of these goals.

And it can put it all together in a matter of hours, not days.

You’ll save a ton of time and likely end up with a better listing as a result.

Use ChatGPT for Amazon Keyword Research

You will absolutely still need to rely on tools like these that give you information about search volume.

However, ChatGPT can help you brainstorm different jumping-off points for your product keywords

Let’s say you are selling a set of sponges like this.

You might reasonably start your keyword research by looking up search volume for “sponge.”

That’s all well and good, but check out all of these other uses and names you’d miss out on.

Now we’re talking!

By phrasing the prompt just a little differently, you can get even more answers.

Now you’ve got a ton of possible keywords that you can potentially add to your listing.

You can also get related keywords by playing with the prompts.

Use ChatGPT to Write Features and Benefits for Your Product

Next, we will need some features and benefits for the product to flesh out the rest of the listing.

Ready? Don’t blink, or you might miss it.

Boom, baby!

You’d obviously want to make sure that these features and benefits are actually true about your product, but I mean…I want to buy this sponge already!

You can also re-phrase your prompts to get different results.

Or something like this.

Pretty much whatever you want!

So that’s great but what about your competitors? What are they talking about in their listings, and how can you make your product stand out?

Use ChatGPT for Amazon Competitor Research

Here’s how you can scrape the negative reviews from your competitors and spin them into something positive you can put into your listing. Got this idea from Chad Rubin.

Step 1: Use the Helium 10 Chrome extension to export a CSV of reviews from your competitor.

Step 2: Copy the reviews from the CSV plus the below prompt into ChatGPT. “Could you summarize the top 5 positive and top 5 negative reviews for this amazon product listing?”. You can only do like 20 reviews at a time though, because ChatGPT has a character limit so keep that in mind.

This is what you’ll get.

Step 3: Prompt ChatGPT with something like, “Could you turn those negative reviews into positive statements?”. Or “Could you reframe those negative reviews about my competitor as positive attributes of my product?”

It got a little confused on this one but with just a few edits you can easily add these attributes into your listing.

Putting it All Together: Create Your Listing

Alright, now you’ve got your…

So, let’s write that listing, baby!

Let’s say you’ve narrowed it down to this list of keywords that are relevant to your product and you’ve organized them by search volume. Of course you’d have way more than 10 but let’s go with it for the sake of example.

  3. Kitchen sponge
  4. Dish sponge
  5. Scrub sponge
  6. Scouring sponge
  7. Cleaning sponge
  8. Abrasive sponge
  9. Heavy-duty sponge
  10. Pot scrubber

I mean, yeah it needs some editing but you’re pretty much done with the title.

Alright now on to the bullet points.
